      Welcome everyone once again to this blog! In today's post we will address the fascinating connection between the worlds of geometry and sport. I will explain how geometric shapes and rules are not only present in textbooks, but can also be found on the playing fields. Geometry is present in all aspects of sport, from stadium designs to play strategies. On basketball, football and tennis courts we can observe how geometric figures are specifically designed to ensure a balanced and fair game. Furthermore, in sports such as football and basketball, players make use of geometry to organise their movements and strategies, for example, triangulated passes in football and curtain plays in basketball are based on geometric principles.  Hello everyone again!,       In today's post we will dive a little deeper into the fascinating world of geometry, exploring the world of the Fibonacci sequence and its surprising relationship with sunflowers.  Hi everybody!     Have you ever seen a snowflake up close? They have incredible and very curious shapes! Today I will explain the relevant relationship between snowflakes and geometry. As you all know, a snowflake is a small ice structure that is generated in clouds when water droplets freeze; although each snowflake is unique and has its own shape, they have one characteristic in common: a hexagonal symmetry.  A snowflake is formed when a water droplet in a cloud transforms into an ice crystal; the more water vapour condenses on that crystal, the larger it becomes. Depending on the temperature and humidity, these water molecules cause different geometric shapes to form. In addition, temperature and humidity also influence how the branches of the snowflake develop, giving rise to an infinite number of shapes and sizes; this process makes each snowflake unique, even though they share the same formation.        Hello everyone! Today I am going to tell you about Polydron, a very enjoyable interactive tool with which we can build our own geometric figures while we play and it will also help us to continue discovering more aspects of geometry. Polydron is a construction set with plastic pieces that can be connected together. Each piece has a different shape, from triangles to pentagons. With this set, we can build flat geometric figures and also three-dimensional structures such as cubes, i.e. it is a three-dimensional puzzle of which we can create the pieces!   Hello everybody! In today's post, we are going to discover the connection between the world of geometry and the world of music thanks to the structure of shapes and sounds. Have you ever wondered how music can develop so well thanks to geometry? First of all, we must remember the basic geometrical shapes such as circles, squares and triangles. These shapes are constantly present in music, and they are transformed to create sounds! Circles are associated with rhythm, as the circle has no beginning and no end and the musical beat is a constantly repeating cycle, so we can say that musical rhythm is a circle that never stops. Like this, it happens with squares; a square has four equal sides and most songs are divided into four measures, so each musical square derives in each block of the song structure.
